Subject: End of school year field trip

Dear students,

I am writing you to let you know that the teachers of year 6 are considering the possibility to have an end of school year field trip with all of you. We believe it gives you the opportunity to have a great ending of your hard work. There is still time to organize it, so we would like to know your opinion. Do you agree about this possibility?

There are several options. We are thinking to travel to Granada and Málaga, so that we can visit the monuments in those provinces and also learn a bit about the culture of Andalucia. There is also the possibility to travel to Galicia and do a little bit of Camino de Santiago for three days. On the other hand, we could also travel to Valencia, visit one of the most famous museums of Spain, go to the amusemnt park of Terra Mitica and spend a couple days at the beach playing water sports.

If you agree, what suggestion would you like the most?

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards / sincerely,

Mr. Williams

The Excretory system, mindmap and videos!!

Dear students,

Let´s try to create a mindmap of the excretory system, so that we can remember the most important parts and ideas:

Our Excretory System

The excretory system is made up of all the organs that remove waste substances from the body. These substances can include excess water and other waste substances.

Exhaling and Sweating

Our body also removes waste by sweating and exhaling. Sweat is made up of the waste water and salts that are stored in our sweat glands. When we sweat, the waste water is expelled through pores in our skin. When we exhale, we also expel waste substances.
Our cells absorb nutrients and oxygen. As a result, they produce waste substances like carbon dioxide and water. Our blood transports these waste substances to our lungs, they are
expelled when we exhale.

MINDMAP questions!!

What´s the main function of the excretory system?
What´s the first organ that undigested food and waste products pass through?
What happens in the large intestine?
Where are the faeces expelled?
What is the function of the kidneys?
Where is the urine stored?
What occurs in the urethra?
Do we remove waste in other ways?

The circulation system! Please, read and review!

 Dear students,

Let´s review and underline the info related to the Circulatory system:

Circulation

When blood enters the heart, it´s pumped into the lungs. In the lungs, the red blood cells absorb oxygen. This oxygenated blood is pumped back into the heart. The heart then pumps the oxygenated blood around the body.

The blood vessels are tubes that connect the heart to the rest of the body. There are three types of blood vessels.: arteries, veins and capillaries. Arteries carry blood away from the heart. Veins carry blood back to the heart. Capillaries are tiny blood vessels that connect the smallest arteries to the smallest veins. Capillaries have very thin walls so gases, nutrients and waste products can go through them to the cells.

Click to watch "circulatory system" video!!

Let´s create a mindmap:

How are the nutrients and oxygen are transported to the organs and bones?

What´s the function of the heart?

What are the red blood cells responsible for?

What do white blood cells do and platelets?

How many types of blood vessels do we have?

What is the difference between arteries and veins?

Please, underline the process of circulation with the 5 steps.
